# Getting Started

## Minting and Rerolling

Asphodel Prologue runs on Ethereum mainnet.

In order to let the game run smoothly without you needing to manually sign every transaction, we use an in-game wallet powered by Privy. Before you can play, you'll need to fund this in-game wallet with ONYX, the arena's currency, plus a little ETH for gas. You can deposit ONYX from an external wallet or purchase with card.

Once your in-game wallet is funded, you can mint your Taruchi, which costs 9 ONYX, almost all of which goes to the player rewards pools - so you can win back your entry fee if you survive long enough...

You can only have one Taruchi active at a time per wallet. If you want to train multiple Taruchi in parallel, we recommend using multiple wallets and switching between them.

Your Taruchi is soulbound, which means it cannot be sold or transferred. If you can survive the Prologue and make it to Ascension, your Taruchi will become an immortal and transferable NFT under your control.

If you don't like your Taruchi, you can reroll it, which destroys it and mints a fresh one. This costs 3 ONYX to do at first. If you make it into higher tournaments and decide for some reason you want to reroll an experienced Taruchi, the cost will increase.

## Playing The Game

1. If you've decided you like your Taruchi, you should **start with a Tutorial match**. Select the Battle tab, and look for the "Tutorial" option under practice. Listen closely and let Aristeia teach you how to fight!
2. You can **experiment with different builds and abilities** for your Taruchi in the training mode. Give it a try and see what works best.
3. When you're ready, before your first real match, you'll want to **train your Taruchi**. You can do this in the Training menu. We suggest picking the safe options for now\...
4. Once you've trained your Taruchi, you can try **entering a Duel**. This is a real match against another real player, and win or lose, you'll gain XP. You'll gain more XP and progress faster if you win.
5. Your goal, whether you want to win ONYX or ascend your Taruchi, is to level up, build your Taru carefully, and then win your first Festival. If you win, you'll get a reward in ONYX and your Taruchi will start to grow into a new form...
6. If you can survive all three Festivals, you'll Ascend and claim a share of the jackpot. This is how you win the game!
